Westside Youth Guide

The Westside Youth Guide is a resource list created specifically for the West Seattle community. The goal of this guide is to make sure local teens, and those who care for them, are aware of the many youth-friendly resources that exist to serve their unique needs.

Tips for Contacting Agencies/Organizations:

Before calling or sending a message, it is a good idea to have a list of questions that you hope to have answered. Some important questions you might ask are:

• What area do you serve?

• When are you open?

• Where are you located? Do you provide online or telehealth programs?

• Is parental consent required?

• Is there a cost for your services?

• What is the availability and accessibility of resources?

If you reach voicemail, speak slowly and clearly when leaving a message. Be sure to include your full name, phone number, and a brief explanation of your questions/concerns. If this feels overwhelming and you’re not sure where to start, ask a trusted adult to help you navigate the process. You don’t have to do it alone!

Acknowledgments:

The Westside Youth Guide was created by the Westside HEY (Healthy Empowered Youth) coalition. Their mission is to promote a healthy and safe community through collaboration, education, and empowerment so that Westside youth can thrive. This coalition is funded by a Drug-Free Communities grant from the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
